Magnitogorsk hosted the renowned evolutionary biologist and MSU researcher Mikhail Nikitin for a series of events connecting the origins of life with the depths of the cosmos.

The university's assembly hall was filled for the lecture "The Origin of Life: From Nebula to Cell." Mikhail discussed how planetary systems form from cosmic dust and how the first living cells emerged on Earth.
Following the lecture, Mikhail visited our observatory for an in-depth tour. Biology and astronomy are deeply linked: the elements that form life are forged within cosmic nebulae and the hearts of stars.
The visit was truly inspiring, featuring discussions on modern data visualization and the future of exoplanet research.
