Six-Planet Alignment

February 28, 2026: A Rare Evening Parade

Get ready for a spectacular celestial show: six planets will gather in a single area of the sky shortly after sunset.

Who is Joining the Parade?

The lineup features Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Jupiter. Four can be seen with the naked eye, while the ice giants will require optics.

Visibility Guide

Visible to the Eye:

  • Venus (Brightest, Mag -3.9)
  • Jupiter (Dazzling, Mag -2.4)
  • Saturn (Golden Glow, Mag 1.0)
  • Mercury (Low on the horizon)

Optics Required:

  • Uranus (Near the Pleiades)
  • Neptune (Near Saturn, ~1° apart)

Where to Look?

The planets form an arc from West to Southeast. Venus will be your bright guide in the West, while Jupiter will shine high in the Southeast next to a 90% illuminated Moon.

Pro Tip: Start observing immediately after dusk. Mercury and Venus set quickly—you’ll have less than an hour to see all participants at once!
